The Search for Christopher Friend
Introduction
On December 18, 2023, I received two packets in the mail from Christopher Friend. In addition to a stack of articles he had written and several art pieces, he included a note: "Here's everything. They're yours now." I awaited further follow-up on instructions for my proceeding with these works, but nothing came. Yesterday, January 17, 2026, while I was sorting my old mail and private papers, I found the two large envelopes from Friend. One was opened and contained the articles and artwork; the other was not. I conducted a search for Christopher Friend online and found only cryptic references. Apparently, he wrote for "Black Petals: Mars-News, Views, and Commentary". and also provided the publication with drawings. But I found little else on the writer/artist. Per his wishes in sending me this body of work, I will republished the contents of the opened envelope in three parts, and then I will open the second envelope and share with you, dear readers, its contents.
