The Narrator's Tale
I am the narrator of this story
About the rise and fall of Banker Bill.
But the sun shone out so full of glory
I left his tale to travel vale and hill.
Free from the bonds of narrative structure
Without a protagonist or bad guy,
I lived my own life beyond the juncture,
To find love, settle down, and multiply.
A happy man was I for many years
A home and family inked a new page;
Blessed with a long full life of joys and tears,
I escaped life in the narrator cage.
I lie in bed at peace with this proud path
As Banker Bill strangles me in his wrath.
